7 Mile Dogs:

I lived in Detroit from 1963 to 1997. When I resided on
Ashton off 7 Mile Road in the 80s, some friends and I
decided to walk to a record shop located between
the Southfield Freeway Service Drive and Greenfield
As we exited the shop to walk home, we happened into
a gang of men who pointed guns in our faces and said
get out of the area, or a cap was gonna get busted in
our asses
These guys were in a dispute with other individuals,
running around guns in hand, shouting 7 Mile, 7 Mile
Dogs as they stormed the night
When I hear about initiation today? I think of this moment
and how close the Dogs were to another jump-in, if in fact
they were into that
I'd like to believe we were spared because we were girls
But
I had this in my face for the first,
and hopefully the last time

8 Ball Jackets

I received an original leather 8 Ball jacket as a gift from an acquaintance who was not too familiar with the City's reaction to this wear, but I knew
Today,
I still have the jacket but when received, I never had the 'balls' to
wear it being that whomever wore the jacket was a target. People
were robbed and deaded for this jacket

Young Jeezy

Young Jeezy
Feds may indict rapper Young Jeezy before August due to
drug trafficking allegations brought to their attention by
a former Black Mafia Family (BMF) soldier. Feds are even
more determined to bring Jeezy down since a urban blog
reported this week that Jeezy allegedly paid $750,000 in
cash to buy his former (famous) girlfriend an Atlanta
mansion and then gave her the deed to the property.
According to reports, he also bought this woman a six
figure condo and its rumored, he also bought her a
Ferrari. Jeezy also drives a $250,000 Lamborghini
despite sluggish record sales. Law enforcement and the
IRS are wondering, where did the money come from for
this extravagant lifestyle? Source: Panache Report

Y.B.I. PHOTOS USED WITH WRITTEN PERMISSION ONLY
Sometime in 1981 - 1984, I watched a Young Boy get shot at a carwash located on 6 Mile Road between Greenfield and the Southfield Freeway Service Drive. I worked at a flower shop across the street and would nosy the activity at the wash
One day a man pulled in for a wash. I recognized him by the campaign hat he wore, the gold, the swagger, the ladies and the counting of the cash. Whilst he stood on the street waiting for his car to finish, someone started shooting at him
Next thing I saw was him lying on the ground
Before leaving the area, the girls with him removed items from his pockets as he laid on the ground. At no time did I see the shooter(s), just the aftermath
Talk about the 80s' streets gone wild? Scandalous and barbaric at its very best
